US stocks edge higher before SK hynix listing
US stocks edged higher shortly after trading opened on July 10 as investors awaited SK hynix's US listing and the start of earnings season.
The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 0.18 percent at 26,227.39. The S&P 500 gained 0.15 percent to 7,554.28, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.15 percent to 52,564.76.
Adam Sarhan of 50 Park Investments said the market was quiet before earnings reports that would test whether a strong second-quarter rise in stocks was justified.
SK hynix, the South Korean supplier of advanced memory chips used for AI technology, raised $26.5 billion for its US listing due Friday. The share sale was described as one of the world's biggest ever stock sales.
Oil prices steadied after rising earlier in the week as the United States and Iran exchanged fire again.
