UK woman and daughters buried in Zimbabwe after killings

Around 2,000 people attended the funeral in Zimbabwe on Tuesday for a woman and her two daughters who were killed in their home in Britain last month, allegedly by her husband.

Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were buried after their bodies arrived Monday in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second city, where the couple were from.

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage, was arrested in South Africa on July 10 and is facing extradition.

The funeral service was at times tense, with representatives of both sides of the family present. The victims' coffins were draped in white.

Ntsika Dakamela, an uncle of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, criticised the media coverage of the killings, saying it had not been sensitive to the grieving families.

A relative of the 45-year-old suspect in South African custody said it was a difficult time for both families.

The bodies were found in early July at the family's £1.3 million, or $1.7 million, home in an affluent suburb of Bedford in central England.
