Turkey tour boat fire forces 115 to shore
All 115 passengers and crew on a children's entertainment tour boat off southwestern Turkey were evacuated to shore after a fire engulfed the vessel Thursday, officials said.
Families were on board the Toys Boat for an outing near Fethiye, a coastal resort popular with British tourists. The Turkish maritime affairs directorate said 11 people were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and none was in serious condition. It did not say whether any were children.
The coastguard told AFP it had evacuated 107 people. The boat's operator said on Facebook that its customers and staff were safe. Turkish media images showed the boat gutted by the fire.
