Trump vaccine order seeks MMR split and mandate review

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on August 10 pushing for a review of school vaccine mandates and again calling for the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine to be separated into three individual shots.

The federal government does not have direct control over several areas covered by the order. A draft obtained by the Washington Post said “states and territories are advised to review” the Trump administration's recommendations on immunization requirements for school enrollment and attendance.

Curbing vaccines has been a priority for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who founded an anti-vaccine nonprofit and has long promoted a disproven link between immunization and autism.
