Treuchtlingen trains halted over suspicious object

Train traffic through Treuchtlingen station in Bavaria was halted on Thursday morning after a suspicious object was found on the tracks, police said.

The police authority for Middle Franconia said specialised federal police units were examining the item. In a post on X shortly before 11:00 am, police said the object posed an explosive hazard and told people to avoid the area.

Treuchtlingen is a town of about 13,000 people around 150 kilometres north of Munich. Its station is a junction for regional and long-distance rail services, including routes to Munich and Nuremberg.
