Taganrog strike kills woman, Russian governor says
A strike on Taganrog in Russia's Rostov region killed a woman and wounded a man when rocket debris fell on residential buildings, Governor Yury Slyusar said Wednesday.
Slyusar said residents of the building were being evacuated and a temporary accommodation centre had been set up.
Ukraine has increased retaliatory strikes inside Russia in recent months, partly to pressure Moscow toward negotiations after nearly four-and-a-half years of war. The United Nations has said last month was the deadliest for civilians in Ukraine since April 2022, as Russia increased long-range strikes on Ukrainian towns and cities.
Uncertainty notes
The supplied information does not establish who launched the Taganrog strike.
The initial casualty figure gives one confirmed injury and says at least one person was wounded.
