Starmer says Britain is stronger and fairer as he leaves office
Keir Starmer left Downing Street on Monday, saying Britain was stronger and fairer as he stepped down as prime minister to make way for Andy Burnham.
In a farewell speech outside No. 10 in central London, Starmer told reporters that he was confident Britain was stronger and fairer than it had been two years earlier. He said he was leaving with good grace, with a smile, and proud of what his government had achieved.
After the speech, Starmer headed to Buckingham Palace to offer his resignation to King Charles III.
