SpaceX says first public earnings report is set for August 4

SpaceX said on Monday that it will release its first quarterly earnings report as a publicly traded company on August 4.

The Elon Musk-led rocket and AI company said on its investor relations website that it is scheduled to report results after markets close that day, at 2130 GMT. The figures will cover the second quarter, which ended on June 30.

SpaceX trades under the ticker SPCX on the Nasdaq exchange. The source said the company's shares have fallen well below their initial public offering price.

SpaceX went public on June 12 at $135 a share. Its stock later rose as high as $225.64, pushing the company's valuation above $2.6 trillion, before falling. Shares closed at $119.85 on Monday, more than 45 percent below their post-IPO peak.

The company reported a loss of $4.3 billion last year in its IPO filings and has a long-term goal of developing data centers in space. Analysts cited in the report do not expect profitability soon.

SpaceX now operates three divisions: a launch and space unit, the Starlink satellite internet service, and an artificial intelligence arm that includes the Grok chatbot and social media platform X.

According to SpaceX's IPO filing, Starlink is the company's only consistently profitable business. It had 10.3 million subscribers as of the first quarter, and revenue was up about 50 percent year-on-year. The AI division posted steep losses last year, weighed down by heavy data center spending.

The earnings report will also trigger the first scheduled unlock of insider shares, freeing stock that has been restricted from sale since the IPO. The source said that could add pressure on the share price if shareholders choose to sell.
