Slovakia hits 41.4C temperature record, agency says
Slovakia recorded an all-time temperature high of 41.4C on Wednesday, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute said, as a heatwave gripped central Europe.
The agency said the record was measured in Kamenica nad Hronom, a village in southwestern Slovakia. It said the reading beat the previous national high of 41.3C, set in the same village on June 30, 2026.
