Shakira, Christina Aguilera Abu Dhabi shows cancelled
A November Abu Dhabi music festival headlined by Shakira and a September 25 Christina Aguilera concert in the UAE capital have been cancelled.
Organisers of the Offlimits music festival announced Tuesday that the festival was cancelled and said tickets would be refunded. A message on the festival website said organisers looked forward to bringing the Offlimits community together again in 2027. The message did not state a reason for the cancellation.
Separately, Ticketmaster said Christina Aguilera's scheduled September 25 concert had also been cancelled and gave no new date, Emirati media reported.
Both the Offlimits festival and Aguilera's concert had previously been scheduled for April before being postponed.
The cancellations were announced amid regional tensions. The United Arab Emirates said Tuesday it was suspending all trade and financial dealings with Iran after reporting an Iranian missile attack directed at its ships.
Uncertainty notes
Offlimits organisers did not state the reason for the festival cancellation.
No reason was provided for the reported cancellation of Christina Aguilera's concert.
The source material does not establish that the regional conflict caused either cancellation.
