Scott Jamieson gets Trump call after golf title win

Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year wait for a European tour title on Sunday, winning the Nexo Championship in Aberdeenshire before receiving a video call from US President Donald Trump.

The 42-year-old Scot won on home soil at Trump International Golf Links. Jamieson told BBC Sport that Trump was “very complimentary” and appeared to have been watching the tournament.

Jamieson shot a final-round 67 to finish 11 under par, two shots ahead of England's Matthew Jordan. His par save on the 17th hole, where Jordan made bogey, effectively sealed the victory.

“Fourteen years, that's wild,” Jamieson said. “It's just so tough, so hard to win.”
