Russian strikes kill 3 near Kyiv, official says

Russian strikes killed three people, including a child, in Brovary district northeast of Kyiv, a Ukrainian regional military official said Saturday.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's regional military administration, said three other people were wounded. He said falling debris from the attacks damaged houses and vehicles and caused a fire in a non-residential building.

Inside Kyiv, an AFP reporter heard about a dozen explosions as Ukraine's air force warned of the "threat of ballistic weapon use from the north".

Kyiv's military administration said an air raid alert had been declared in the capital because of ballistic missiles and told residents to take shelter.
