Romania says Spanish F-18 downed drone after breach
Romania's defence ministry said Sunday that a Spanish F-18 fighter jet shot down a drone that entered Romanian airspace from Moldova near the borders with Ukraine and Moldova.
The ministry said the jet, deployed on NATO duties, intercepted the drone at 5:01 a.m. local time, or 0201 GMT.
It said debris fell in an unpopulated area of the Galati region, near the Ukrainian border.
