Renault says first-half global sales slipped slightly
On 23 July 2026, Renault said its global sales were nearly flat in the first half of the year, with weaker Dacia sales in Europe weighing on the French carmaker's results.
Renault said it sold just under 1.2 million vehicles from January to June. That was 0.4 percent fewer than in the first six months of 2025.
In Europe, Renault's main market, sales fell by 1.3 percent to 821,092 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The company said the Renault brand, which it described as the number two player in Europe, increased sales by 2.6 percent year-on-year to 528,849 vehicles. Dacia sales fell by 8.7 percent to 284,021 vehicles.
Renault also reported progress in its electrification plans. It said 52 percent of its passenger car sales in Europe were electrified vehicles, including fully electric models, plug-in hybrids and non-plug-in hybrids. That compared with 43.8 percent in the first half of 2025.
The company said 66.3 percent of Renault brand cars sold were electrified, up from 59 percent a year earlier. For Dacia, the share rose to 30.8 percent from 23.6 percent.
Outside Europe, Renault said it continued to strengthen its position in strategic markets. It reported first-half sales growth of 61.2 percent in India, 15.4 percent in Turkey, 13.7 percent in Morocco and 5.3 percent in Brazil.
