Rafa Mir loaned to Aris after sexual assault verdict

Sevilla loaned Spanish striker Rafa Mir to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki on Tuesday after a Valencia court sentenced him in June to eight and a half years in prison for sexual assault and bodily harm.

Mir, 29, has appealed the verdict, which was issued after his trial in May. Sevilla said the loan deal includes an option to buy.

The offences took place on September 1, 2024, at Mir's house in Betera, near Valencia, after he and a friend met two women at a nightclub.

Mir came through Valencia's youth academy and joined Premier League club Wolves in 2018. Sevilla bought him in 2021, and he was loaned back to Valencia in July 2024.

He was arrested in September 2024 and suspended by Valencia for two matches. He spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Elche and has represented Spain at youth level.
