Philippine Airlines says it will acquire up to 14 more Airbus A350-1000 jets

On 21 July 2026, Philippine Airlines said it will acquire up to 14 more Airbus A350-1000 aircraft as part of an upgrade of its long-haul fleet.

The airline said a memorandum of understanding with Airbus covers nine additional A350-1000s and purchase rights for five more. It did not state the value of the deal. PAL said the aircraft would make the A350-1000 its flagship model for long-haul operations.

The announcement followed PAL's statement on Monday that it would acquire up to 20 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner jets, its first order from the US manufacturer in almost 20 years.

PAL currently operates two Airbus A350-1000s on major long-haul routes, including non-stop flights from Manila to New York and Toronto. The airline said seven more from a batch ordered in 2023 are expected to be delivered by 2028.

Lucio Tan, president and chief operating officer of PAL parent PAL Holdings Inc., said the A350-1000 would continue to define the future of the airline's international operations. The newly ordered aircraft are expected to be delivered from 2034 to 2036.
