Netanyahu to meet Trump at White House on Tuesday, his office says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, Netanyahu's office said.
The office said Netanyahu will leave for Washington on Monday. It said the visit will also include his attendance at the funeral service for Senator Lindsey Graham, whom it described as a friend of Israel.
The visit comes as tensions have grown between the two leaders over the handling of the war with Iran. Since Trump returned to the White House last year, the two leaders have met six times.
Netanyahu has maintained close ties with Trump and has called him the greatest friend Israel has had in the White House. But the relationship has shown strain in recent months, with Trump using profanity-laced criticism against Netanyahu earlier this year during difficult negotiations over the Iran deal.
