Moscow region drone strike kills 5, governor says
A drone strike on the Novoselki industrial zone outside Moscow killed five people and wounded six, Moscow region governor Andrey Vorobyov said Tuesday.
Vorobyov said on Telegram that several fires broke out after the strike. The earlier published account said the industrial zone was in the Chekhov municipal district and that firefighters had extinguished the largest blaze, at a warehouse.
In northwestern Russia, drones damaged a warehouse near Krasny Bor and wounded one person, Leningrad regional governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said. Wildberries said a fire broke out at its Krasny Bor logistics facility as a result of the attack.
In Ukraine, Oleg Grygorov, head of the Sumy regional military administration, said Russian guided aerial bomb strikes on Sumy killed two children and an elderly woman overnight. He said the girls were aged five and 10 and that six guided aerial bombs struck civilian infrastructure, including residential and non-residential buildings.
Georgy Reshetilov, head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, said another attack on the southern port city killed an 89-year-old woman.
Russia launched its full-scale offensive against Ukraine in February 2022. Ukraine has carried out long-range strikes in Russia, including recent attacks on warehouses belonging to Wildberries.
