Montreal teen arrested after FBI school attack tip
Canadian federal police arrested a teenager on Friday after an FBI warning that he was planning to attack a school in Montreal, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.
The RCMP said US authorities shared intelligence about the youth several weeks ago. Police said he was suspected of using artificial intelligence to plan an attack and of posting threatening messages on Telegram targeting various groups.
RCMP spokesman Erique Gasse said the suspect was affiliated with neo-Nazi ideology and was targeting Muslim, Haitian and LGBTQ groups.
The RCMP said investigators had reasonable grounds to fear the suspect might commit crimes related to violent extremism.
