Mexico economy grows 2.1% in second quarter

Mexico's economy grew 2.1% in the second quarter of 2026 from the same period a year earlier, the INEGI national statistics institute said Thursday.

Gross domestic product rose 1.5% compared with the first quarter of 2026. The official figures linked the increase to agricultural activity and the large service sector, as well as trade and construction ahead of last month's start of the World Cup, which Mexico co-hosted.
