Ivan Toney charged over London nightclub assault

England striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm over a reported incident at a nightclub in Soho, central London, the Metropolitan Police said on Friday.

Police said Toney, 30, was charged on July 31. The charge relates to an assault that reportedly took place on December 6, 2025.

Toney, who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 24.

The Sun newspaper reported on December 8 that Toney had been arrested after an alleged headbutt. A spokesperson for Toney said he acknowledges the charge and looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court.
