Italy economy grows 0.2% in second quarter
Italy's economy grew 0.2% in the second quarter from the previous quarter, national statistical institute Istat said Thursday in an initial estimate.
Istat said the figure marked a slight slowdown from 0.3% growth in the previous quarter. Year-on-year growth stood at 1% for Italy.
The second-quarter figure was in line with forecasts from analysts polled by FactSet.
Italy's national bank raised its 2026 growth forecast slightly to 0.6% two weeks earlier, despite global economic pressures linked to the war in the Middle East.
