Lebanon state media says Israeli strike kills 1, wounds 11
Lebanon state media said one person was killed and 11 wounded in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, after the Israeli military said it had begun strikes in the area over what it called a ceasefire breach by Hezbollah.
The Israeli military said earlier that it was carrying out “precise strikes” in southern Lebanon after a “blatant violation of the ceasefire” by Iran-backed Hezbollah. It did not give details of the alleged violation, targets, casualties or precise locations.
The strikes came as Lebanon and Israel held US-sponsored talks in Rome over a phased Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the deployment of Lebanese forces in the south.
