Iran says it summoned French ambassador over alleged interference by two diplomats
Iran’s foreign ministry said it summoned the French ambassador in Tehran after accusing two diplomats, who were briefly detained earlier this month, of interfering in Iran’s internal affairs. Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said at a weekly press briefing on Monday that the ambassador had been summoned the previous day. He said Iran told France to stop what Tehran described as interference carried out under “misleading labels.”
Baqaei said the diplomats had engaged in activities that were “in no way justified.”
