Iberia extends Havana flight suspension to June 2027

Iberia has extended the temporary suspension of its route to and from Havana until 30 June 2027, the Spanish airline said on its website.

The airline had announced in April that it would stop flights to Cuba from June until late October because of the situation in the country. Iberia said customers with tickets could get a refund or rebook to another destination.

Cuba has faced regular blackouts, fuel rationing, higher gasoline prices, reduced public transport and a fall in tourism. Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero said last month that nearly three-quarters of the island's hotels had been shut and that tourism was in "almost total paralysis" because of US sanctions and fuel shortages.

Canadian, Russian and other European airlines have also suspended flights to Cuba.
