Saudi Najran airport radar hit, regional source says
Yemen's Houthis said Tuesday they used a drone to target Najran Airport in southern Saudi Arabia, and a regional source with knowledge of the matter told AFP the airport's main radar was hit, affecting operations.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group “successfully targeted a sensitive target belonging to the Saudi enemy” at the airport.
Saree said the strike was in response to what he described as Saudi drone violations of airspace over Yemen's Saada and Hajjah governorates.
Saudi Arabia had not issued any comment on the claimed attack.
The Houthi statement came amid tensions between the Iran-backed Yemeni rebels and Saudi Arabia after the Houthis declared a maritime blockade on Riyadh and struck its ships.
