Germany records 14,000 heat-related deaths this summer
Germany registered around 14,000 heat-related deaths this summer, official data showed Thursday, including about 9,600 in one week at the end of June when temperatures rose above 40C.
The Robert Koch Institute, Germany's public health authority, gave the one-week figure. The summer total was above the previous record high in 2018.
