Gaza strike kills one, first in over a week, officials say
Israel carried out an air strike in Gaza on Wednesday, the first in more than a week, killing one person, officials from both sides said.
An Israeli military spokesperson said Israel “carried out a strike to remove a threat.” Gaza's civil defence agency said one person was killed and several injured people were taken to a Gaza City hospital.
The strike broke a lull as the United States pressed a peace plan.
