FTSE 100 hits record high despite global tech rout
London's benchmark FTSE 100 stock index reached an all-time high on Wednesday, rising to 10,951.06 points.
The level surpassed its previous record of 10,934.94, reached at the end of February. The index later fell back below 10,900 points around midday.
AFP reported that the FTSE 100 was spared from a global technology rout because it has few major technology companies.
