French economy grows 0.2% in second quarter
France's economy returned to growth in the second quarter, expanding 0.2%, the statistics office INSEE said in a first estimate released on July 30.
The second-biggest economy in the European Union had contracted 0.1% in the previous quarter. INSEE said the rebound was helped by stronger domestic demand and healthier export figures.
The April-to-June growth figure matched predictions from the Bank of France but was below INSEE's earlier forecast of 0.3%.
