France freezes Xenia Fedorova's assets for six months
France froze the assets of pro-Kremlin Russian commentator Xenia Fedorova for six months on Friday, days after the interior ministry ordered her to leave the country.
The French finance ministry said the decree took immediate effect and used a legal mechanism aimed at preventing acts of interference. The ministry said the measure could be renewed.
Fedorova works for a media group owned by a conservative French billionaire. Her expulsion order followed accusations that she had relayed Kremlin propaganda on French television.
Uncertainty notes
The supplied material does not identify who made the accusations about relaying Kremlin propaganda.
