Croatia plane crash kills two near Zadar
Two people were found dead after a small plane flying from the Czech Republic crashed near the Croatian coastal city of Zadar, Croatian authorities said.
Croatian police said a search began after air traffic control reported that the plane's signal had been lost at around 4:00 pm local time on Friday. The wreckage was found in the mountains of Paklenica National Park, about 60 kilometres northeast of Zadar.
Police said the search for the missing ultralight plane ended at around 10:00 pm when members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service found the aircraft and two dead people.
Authorities did not release the passengers' nationalities. Police said they would secure the scene for an on-site investigation into the circumstances of the crash in the early hours of Saturday.
