Brent nears $100 after Houthi claim over Saudi tankers
Brent North Sea crude rose 5 percent on Thursday to $98.80 a barrel after Houthi rebels claimed they had struck two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
The main US oil contract, West Texas Intermediate, rose 3.8 percent to $90.11 a barrel. The price moves came as the attacks potentially opened a new front in the Middle East war.
