Brazil recalls ambassador to Argentina after Milei's 'convict' and 'thief' remarks about Lula
Brazil recalled its ambassador to Argentina for consultations on Sunday after what its Foreign Ministry described as insults by Argentine President Javier Milei at a Sao Paulo rally supporting Brazilian right-wing presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro.
The ministry told AFP the recall followed remarks by Milei at the event formally nominating Bolsonaro. AFP reported that Milei referred to Brazil's leftist incumbent President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as a "convict" and a "thief" without naming him directly.
AFP also reported that Milei referred, again without naming him directly, to Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes as "bald trash."
