Brazil factory stabbing kills three, police say

Police in Brazil said a 33-year-old man stabbed three people to death on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the factory where he worked in Sao Bernardo do Campo, in the greater Sao Paulo area.

Police said the man entered the workplace and stabbed the three victims, who died. They said he was arrested and taken to a police station, where he died by suicide. Police did not give further details on his death.

The victims were aged 39, 44 and 54.

Bombril, a well-known Brazilian household cleaning brand, said on Instagram that the stabbing happened at its factory and that the attacker and victims were contractors.

Local media reported that the attacker was a forklift operator who had gone to the factory on his day off intending to kill two people, and that the third victim was killed while trying to stop the attack.
