Authorities say Ukrainian drone strikes on Wildberries sites wound eight in Russia

Authorities said Ukrainian drones hit warehouses for Wildberries, Russia's biggest online retailer, on Wednesday, wounding eight people.

Tatiana Kim, the company's chief executive, said Wildberries logistics centres in the southern cities of Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk had been evacuated.

Vladimir Vladimirov, governor of Stavropol Krai, said on Russia's state-run Max platform that a warehouse complex had caught fire after a drone attack on the outskirts of Nevinnomyssk. He said five people received medical treatment. Earlier, he said air defence forces were working to intercept an attack by enemy drones targeting the industrial zone of Nevinnomyssk.

The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters later said three more people were wounded when drone debris fell on the warehouse in Krasnodar.

The strikes were the latest attacks on Wildberries sites after Ukraine struck two key company warehouses on Saturday, killing eight night-shift workers and starting fires that all but destroyed the facilities. Kyiv has intensified strikes on Russian territory in recent months, disrupting ordinary Russians' lives. Ukraine calls the strikes retribution for more than four years of bombardments of Ukraine.
