At least 14 dead and five injured in northern Peru road accident
Local authorities said at least 14 people died and five others were injured on Thursday when a van or minibus went off a road and fell into a ravine in northern Peru.
Ricardo Chilon, head of institutional communications for the San Juan municipality, said authorities had reports of 14 deaths and five injuries. San Juan is in the Cajamarca region, more than 800 kilometers north of Lima.
