UK to share Stone Cloak drone-jammer technology as Burnham hosts Zelensky

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham is due to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday as the UK announces it will share Stone Cloak drone-jammer technology with Ukraine. The meeting will be the first visit by a foreign leader since Burnham took office a week earlier, Downing Street said.

Burnham and Zelensky are expected to visit a British naval base and meet British and Ukrainian armed forces personnel involved in training Ukrainian service members. Burnham will use the visit to reaffirm Britain’s “unwavering support” for Kyiv.

The UK will give Ukraine access to the intellectual property behind Stone Cloak, a battle-tested electronic jamming system. The tablet-sized devices are attached to drones and can disrupt Russian air-defence systems attempting to track and target them in flight, Downing Street said. Thousands of Stone Cloak jammers have already been supplied to Ukraine.

The two leaders are also due to meet about 200 Ukrainian military personnel and sailors who have completed three weeks of training in Britain. The maritime security and counter-mine exercise is intended to prepare them for future operations in the Black Sea.

Britain has provided £25 billion in support to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion, including £16 billion in direct military assistance, according to Downing Street.

Zelensky is due to travel to Washington on Tuesday for talks with US President Donald Trump, a White House official said last week. He is also expected to attend the funeral of US senator Lindsey Graham.
