Airbus profit rises 47% on higher plane deliveries

Airbus said on Wednesday that net profit rose 47% in the first half of the year to 2.2 billion euros, helped by higher commercial aircraft deliveries and stronger sales at its defence business.

Revenue rose 12% from a year earlier to 33.2 billion euros.

Airbus delivered 351 commercial aircraft in the first six months, up from 306 in the same period of 2025. The company receives most aircraft payments when it delivers planes to customers, making deliveries a key measure of its performance.

Chief executive Guillaume Faury said the first-half results mainly reflected higher commercial aircraft deliveries and strong performance in Defence and Space, against what he called a complex and fast-changing environment.

Airbus has been trying to raise production after cutting it during the Covid pandemic, but has faced supplier problems.

Revenue at Airbus Defence and Space rose 17% year-on-year to 5.8 billion euros, with the company citing higher volumes across its business lines. The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Mideast war have led countries to increase defence spending.
