Air France-KLM profit falls 71% on fuel costs

Air France-KLM said its net profit fell 71% in the second quarter to 190 million euros, or $217 million, because of high fuel costs linked to the war in the Middle East.

The Franco-Dutch group said Air France, KLM and Transavia had a combined fuel bill more than 800 million euros higher than in the same quarter of 2025.

Chief executive Benjamin Smith said the increase in fuel prices had affected second-quarter results, but that pricing and cost controls had helped reduce the impact.
