Venture Global starts Plaquemines LNG operations

Venture Global said the first phase of its Plaquemines LNG export project began commercial operations on October 31, 2026.

The US liquefied natural gas company said the first cargo after the commercial operations date left at 3:26 a.m. and was lifted by Shell.

Venture Global said Phase 1 reached commercial operations just over 53 months after the final investment decision on the project. Chief executive Mike Sabel said the milestone would allow the company to continue supplying US LNG to the global market.

Plaquemines LNG is Venture Global's second LNG export project. The company says its first three projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG and CP2 LNG, are in Louisiana.

Uncertainty notes

The announcement is based on Venture Global's company statement; the supplied material does not include independent confirmation of the operational milestone.
