New York house fire kills six in Brooklyn
Six people died in a house fire early Thursday in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood, New York authorities said.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani said four people were dead when firefighters arrived and two others died at the hospital. All six were adults.
Mamdani said four civilians were also hurt, while three firefighters and two police officers suffered minor injuries. He said firefighters responded in under four minutes.
Video from the scene showed flames coming from several windows of a row-style property in Sunset Park, about five miles from Manhattan.
Mamdani said it was too early to determine the cause. Daniel Flynn, first deputy commissioner of the fire department, said fire marshals were at the scene investigating.
