Florida Learjet crash kills nine near Mar-a-Lago

Nine people were killed Sunday when a Learjet 60 crashed into a neighborhood in Palm Beach County, Florida, officials said.

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said all nine people on board were killed. He said the aircraft had departed Austin, Texas, and was headed for the Bahamas.

The crash happened near Cresthaven, less than seven miles from US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort home. Trump had been at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday and left from a nearby airport about an hour before the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. Storms had been reported in the area, but no cause of the crash has been established.
