Dutch offer €2m reward for Jos Leijdekkers arrest

Dutch authorities are offering a record two-million-euro reward for information leading to the arrest of Jos Leijdekkers, a fugitive drug trafficker also known as “Bolle Jos”.

Dutch prosecutors said the reward was 10 times higher than the previous offer and called his arrest the highest priority for the Public Prosecution Service and police.

Leijdekkers, 35, is considered by Dutch authorities to be one of the key figures in the international cocaine trade. A Rotterdam court sentenced him in absentia in 2024 to 24 years in prison over drug shipments totalling nearly 7,000 kilos of cocaine, an armed robbery and ordering a killing. He has also been sentenced to 79 years in prison in Belgium.

Dutch police have tracked him to Sierra Leone. Authorities said any information shared with prosecutors would be kept secret.

Uncertainty notes

Leijdekkers' exact whereabouts in Sierra Leone were not specified.
