Dammam airport targeted by Houthi drones, group says
Yemen's Houthis said Monday they targeted Dammam airport in eastern Saudi Arabia with two drones over the previous 48 hours, as the group continued attacks against the kingdom.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the operation happened in two phases and claimed it disrupted air traffic at the airport. He also claimed Houthi strikes on a Saudi early-warning radar and a military transport plane in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi-led coalition separately said its forces intercepted and destroyed two drones in the Riyadh area. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki did not name a perpetrator in his post on X.
The Houthis are fighting a Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen's internationally recognised government. The United Nations says more than 1,600 people have been killed and more than 300,000 displaced since fighting resumed in Yemen after a years-long truce.
Uncertainty notes
The supplied material does not include independent confirmation of the claimed Dammam airport strike, any damage or any disruption to air traffic.
