Aramco starts engineering for Saudi oil pipeline expansion
Saudi Aramco has started preliminary engineering for a planned expansion of Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, chief executive Amin H Nasser said on Tuesday.
Nasser told an earnings call that preliminary engineering was underway for the expansion. He said last month that Aramco hoped to increase the pipeline network's capacity from 7 million to 10 million barrels a day.
The East-West pipeline can move millions of barrels of crude each day from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea.
Uncertainty notes
The supplied information does not state when construction would begin or when any expansion would be completed.
