Christa Pike execution failed, lawyers say
Lawyers for Tennessee woman Christa Pike said in a statement to media that her execution had “failed”, after the US Supreme Court cleared it in a last-minute order on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court order dated September 30, 2026, vacated a lower-court stay of execution. The decision had made Pike the first American woman set to be put to death since 2023.
