Ship hit by projectile off UAE, UKMTO says
A ship off the United Arab Emirates was struck by an unknown projectile on Friday, causing a fire that was later extinguished, the UKMTO maritime agency said.
UKMTO said it had received multiple reports of the strike. It did not provide details on any casualties aboard the vessel.
The ship was reported to be dozens of kilometres from the Strait of Hormuz. The incident came days after a tanker was hit off Qatar, about 500 kilometres west of the strait.
