Ukraine intelligence sharing was not paused, Rubio says

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Monday that there had been no pause in US intelligence sharing with Ukraine, denying Kyiv's claim that Washington had briefly halted information used to counter Russian missile attacks.

“There has been no pause,” Rubio told reporters in Uzbekistan, where he was holding talks with Central Asian officials. President Volodymyr Zelensky told US media Sunday that intelligence sharing had been “deblocked by the American side” after a three-day suspension.

Rubio said President Donald Trump wanted Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to focus on ending Russia's invasion of Ukraine, now in its fifth year.

“What he should be focused on and what we want to be focused on is bringing an end to this war,” Rubio said of Zelensky.

Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social that he was making “great progress” in negotiating peace between Russia and Ukraine, but claimed that Zelensky “doesn't care” and “doesn't want to end this war.”

Trump also accused Zelensky of targeting diesel refineries in Russia and said those attacks were hurting world diesel markets, including in the United States. Trump says he has made a deal with Russia to secure fuel exports in exchange for easing sanctions.
