Quebec separatists win provincial election, media say
Separatists won Quebec's provincial election on Monday, Canadian media projected, putting the Parti Quebecois on course to form the next government in Canada's French-speaking province.
Public broadcaster CBC and private outlets projected the Parti Quebecois victory, though it was not yet clear whether the party would control a legislative majority.
The party campaigned on a promise to hold a vote on leaving Canada after US President Donald Trump leaves office. The result tests Prime Minister Mark Carney's message of national unity.
